That being the case, I owe my friend Amelia a few blog posts. One of them is about Bert the Hippo. Bert the Hippo is a big stuffed hippo, owned by the character Abby on NCIS. Since NCIS is one of our favorite shows, Amelia gave me Bert for Christmas. He's a very cuddly hippo.
I do want to write about some of my general goals for this year, and I also want to write about Bert the Hippo. So without further ado, I give you "Bert the Hippo presents: Goals for a New Year."
1. Eat better food
Let's face it, I'm not going to be giving up mac and cheese anytime soon. Or big heaping piles of pasta in general. But if I can eat a few more fruits and veggies every day, maybe I won't have enough room for all those chips. One can hope, right?
2. Take more pictures
Because I love my digital SLR and I haven't used it nearly enough in the past few years! And because my corgi is so darn cute.
3. Read more books
My sister-in-law read 83 books last year. 83! I think I read 8.3 pages of a book. (Ok, that's not true, but still). I miss reading. Like, a lot. I'm not gonna set a numerical goal for myself, but reading a few books this year would be the best thing ever.
I'm also embarrassed to say that I've never read the entire Old Testament. These are the books that I'm missing (ok, I've read most of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel & Ezekiel, but most isn't good enough): Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, & Malachi. As you can see, I've got a major problem with the minor prophets (ba-dum PSSHHH!). Finishing those will probably be my first order of business.
I'm hoping to spin up a post about Legoland and one about Les Mis, which I saw last night. Stay tuned!
